Year 2 Update - Swan, Planes, Ships and Trains Concert
Visit to Barbican Hall to watch the London Symphony Orchestra
Despite the soaring temperatures, Year 2 had a fantastic day visiting the Barbican Centre in London to watch the London Symphony Orchestra perform the wonderful Swan, Planes, Ships and Trains concert. The children were captivated by the talented musicians and thoroughly enjoyed experiencing a live orchestra in such an impressive venue.
The concert took the children on a musical journey, bringing different forms of transport to life through music and storytelling. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to develop their appreciation of music while seeing and hearing a professional orchestra perform live.
We were incredibly proud of the children's excellent behaviour, enthusiasm and engagement throughout the day. They embraced every part of the experience and returned to school excited to share their favourite moments from the performance.
A huge thank you to our parent helpers who generously gave their time to support the trip. We simply could not have done it without you. Your help ensured that the day ran smoothly and allowed the children to enjoy this special experience safely and comfortably.
Despite the heat, the children had a fabulous time and created memories that will stay with them for years to come. It was a truly inspiring and enriching day for all involved.
Year 6 Visit The RAF Museum
Year 6 visited the RAF Museum London to support their learning about the Battle of Britain. During the visit, the children took part in an engaging Air Raid workshop, which deepened their understanding of the impact that the Second World War had on children and civilians in Britain. The children also explored the museum, where they saw a range of historic aircraft and authentic World War II artefacts, bringing their classroom learning to life. It was a memorable and enriching experience that gave the children a greater understanding of this important period in history.
